Established in 1888 Arbeiter-Samariter- Bund (ASB) is one of
Germany's longest established and largest social welfare
organisations. ASB currently has a portfolio of over 100 projects in
relief, rehabilitation and community based development. ASB entered
Indonesia following the May 2006 earthquake and has established
projects in emergency relief; reconstruction and training;
information outreach; disaster preparedness and livelihoods sectors.
ASB is currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and
committed individuals for the following position:

Project Coordinator Emergency Preparedness for Young People
Location: Nias, North Sumatra
Duration: 6 months (including one month training and probation
period)
Starting Date: Immediate

Summary of job profile/responsibil ities :
To assist in the delivery of school and community based emergency
preparedness project. The project coordinator reports to the project
manager and senior administrative staff.

Key requirements:
1.Minimum Bachelor's degree, with, at least 2-3 years experience in
managing a small team or equivalent
2.Experience of coordinating with the governmental bodies and other
stakeholders essential.
3.Knowledge of finance management and basic accounting essential.
4.Good English language skills (written and oral)
5.Excellent reporting skills (English language)
6.Experience in and knowledge of disaster risk reduction (DRR)
issues an advantage
7.Experience in working in recognized international NGO an asset,
but not essential.
8.Individuals with strong private sector background encouraged to
apply.
9.Have to have a strong commitment and an initiative to work in
professional environment.
10.Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft office
11.Able to multi-task and willing to work irregular and long hours
to meet deadlines
12.Able to travel, as and when required

The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) is implementing a major community-based reconstruction and rehabilitation program with the primary focus on shelter construction project in Aceh Besar, Lamno, Calang and Nias for beneficiaries affected by Tsunami of December 26, 2004 and earthquake of March 28, 2007. We are also implementing Livelihood, Environmental Health and Disaster Preparedness Management programs to help families and communities to improve their live quality. We are looking for qualified and committed candidates to fill the following position on a fixed term contract basis.

Administration / Finance Officer Aceh Besar (Ref. Code AO-AB)Purpose of the Post:To provide administrative, financial and translation support to the Aceh Besar Field Office.

Main Responsibilities: 1. Work towards the achievement of Canadian Red Cross goals in the country/region of operation through effective managerial and lateral relations and teamwork2. Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and accountabilities3. Perform other work related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor. General Description of the Role:The Field Logistics Officer will assist Field Logistics Team Leader to carryout all Field Logistics tasks according to the CRC/ IFRC Logistics procedures in support of Canadian Red Cross operations in Nias.Main responsibilities:

· Following CRC & Federation standard regarding receiving, distribution & warehouse procedures in the field and maintain records· Carry out road assessments with the coordination of Field Logistics Team Leader and Fleet Officer.
· To ensure the correct receiving according to the distribution schedule & storage. Make sure the house kits are received in the right quantity and quality at the right place (dropping zone).
· Maintain security and safety procedures at all times
· Make sure to report on any missing, damaged or extra items to Field logistics team Leader daily basis.
· Process Request Orders on missing items on time
· Ensure to follow stock control procedures and maintain records at all times.
· Arrange pegging with the coordination of CEOs and monitor potering
· Organizing local labour for portering to ensure timely and efficient reception/ dispatch of goods from the Dropping Zone to sites
· Prepare and submit weekly/monthly stock/ receiving/ portering/ pegging reports to the Field Logistics Team Leader and to inform any change in the delivery schedule that affect the overall logistics operation.
· Liaise and maintain professional and timely communications with other functions within the delegation as well as with IFRC to ensure the timely reception and dispatch of goods from the warehouse(s) .
· Liaise with the Federation and collaborate with them where appropriate.
· Follow CRC/ IFRC standard practices/ procedures on receiving & distribution in the field
· Follow and monitor daily distribution schedule & correct storage of the houses on the construction sites including security arrangements
· Maintain accurate Field Logistics stock control system and keep records at all times and advice Field Logistics Team Leader on any delivery issues that affect the overall logistics operation.
· Organizing local labour for portering to ensure timely and efficient reception/ dispatch of goods from the Dropping Zone to sites
· Liaise and maintain professional and timely communications with other functions within the delegation as well as with IFRC to ensure the timely reception and dispatch of goods from the warehouse(s) .
· Liaise with the Federation and collaborate with them where appropriate.
· Ensure to maintain good professional working relationship with other departments, community members and villages etc.
· Ensure to report any obstructive issues that are related to Logistics operations in Nias

Competencies and skills required for the position:· Good oral and written English· Good Communication and organising ability· Formal education up to secondary level· Self-supporting in computers (Word & Excel)· 1-2 years experience in Field work with humanitarian organizations.
